Description
Chemical Production Operators are responsible for conducting the daily activities related to the manufacturing operations of the chemical facility.
Operator responsibility and accountability includes, but is not limited to:
- Working within the scope of procedures and instructions to manufacture chemical products by operating processes and equipment, primarily via DCS and PLC systems.
- Facilitate the transfer of raw materials and finished products to and from vessels including, railway cars, tank trucks, totes and drums.
- Ensures data collection / documentation of the process, interprets results and responds with appropriate adjustments.
- Assists with the process and equipment troubleshooting process.
- Ensures the proper handling of waste streams to comply with corporate, local, state and federal regulations.
- Participates in and complies with all training and development activities. - Performs emergency response activities, as required.
- Acts in a manner that ensures that all BASF standards are maintained in the areas of safety, environmental, quality manufacturing and individual and team performance.
Qualifications : BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Requirements:
- Minimum 18 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Possess a valid drivers license
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations and score a minimum of 80 proficiency on a mechanical aptitude test
- PTEC or other post:secondary technical program preferred
- Previous chemical operation experience preferred
This position requires all candidates to either currently possess or obtain and maintain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) Card from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
