** Network Administrator ** in Baton Rouge, Louisiana For Sale
Turner Industries Group is looking for a Network Administrator to join our IT Department in Baton Rouge, LA. The Network Administrator's role is to work with a team to design, support, maintain, and optimize data networks and telecommunication systems. This person shall apply professional experience and training in information technology and network communications to troubleshoot network performance issues and analyze network traffic across wired and wireless networks, as well as provide support of local and wide area networking, switches, routers, firewalls, storage, physical and virtual servers, and security technologies such as intrusion detection/prevention.
Job Responsibilities: Network Administrators ensure that network operations standards are followed, maintains day-to-day operations, troubleshoots, and resolves system failures. He/she assists with planning, designing, implementing, and maintaining data connectivity of local and wide area network systems. He/she also provides administrative support of Servers and SAN equipment ensuring that performance targets and uptime goals are met, and that scheduled maintenance occurs within the standard downtime window. A Network Administrator is responsible for forecasting the service life of assets and software, and budgeting for their timely replacement. He/she will ensure that all network equipment conforms to standards approved by IT Management. A Network Administrator works with a team ensuring knowledge transfer and redundancy between Network Administrators. He/she must be able to work independently on projects and provide summary reports as needed.
Qualifications:
Education or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Administration or in a job related field of study.
Three (3) years working experience installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of network and server hardware and associated equipment.
Experiencing and success planning, implementing, and supporting LAN, WAN, WLAN networks
Technical knowledge of current networking hardware (routers, switches, access points, etc.), protocols (BGP, OSPF, HSRP, etc.), and internet standards.
Experience with network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
Knowledgeable of requirements for providing redundant and high available systems where necessary.
Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and companywide.
Excellent Troubleshooting Skills and Customer service oriented.
Beneficial Experience and Knowledge:
Industry Standard Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, etc.
Experience administering/maintaining server and storage hardware and operating systems
Active Directory
VMware
Cisco Voice Technologies
Citrix or other Application Virtualization Technologies
Data Protection Software
Network Security
